Oof. This week was a tough one. Truth is? I hit a wall. I was physically and mentally exhausted. I had a cold that’s lingering (sorta still do). My body was in a permanent state of soreness. I wasn’t been eating well because all I craved is carbs. My calendar was packed with social plans. And most of my runs last week were crap. I just felt like I had no spirit and no energy.
I got some good cross training in on Monday and Thursday going to yoga and Fit4Mom Stroller Strides – both felt great, and a nice change up! My runs otherwise were a battle. The hardest was Tuesday’s 8 miles as well as Saturday’s 13 miles. I plugged along during both and pushed myself to get them done. But both days I was relieved to hear my Garmin beep for that final mile.
I have another really big week coming up so I am focusing on resting when I can (I’ve been sleeping in a little bit!). I’ve been trying to eat a more well rounded diet – and not just carbs with a side of carbs. I’ve been hydrating. And I’ve been saying NO to plans to help give myself a break. I’m thankfully starting to feel more like myself again and I’m actually excited to hit the ground running again this week. I’ve got 6 weeks to go until the Philadelphia Marathon and I can’t wait to cross that finish line STRONG!
