January Thaw is real, and it’s here in Philadelphia. To be honest, I hope it stays for good. I’m from New England originally so I have experienced and can withstand harsh winters….but the older I get, the more I find snow to be such a nuisance! Especially when getting out of the house these days requires clear sidewalks for the twins’ stroller(s). So I am happy for any day that is snow and ice free. Heck, I’d rather rain over snow at this point.
So, I was really happy that the temps were in the 40s-50s all week. It meant lots of runs outside both solo and with the stroller. My total mileage for the week was 22.5 miles plus a Fit4Mom Stroller Barre class. I am trying to be diligent about adding in more cross training to my routine. I can already feel the difference with my running, I am stronger!
My toughest day was Tuesday. I woke up really cranky, tired, and hungry. I tried to get a run in before Chris left for work – but I got 30 seconds from my door and turned back. I didn’t have it in me. I spent the morning beating myself up about it, I didn’t want to have the story of my day defined by giving up. I did manage to get out the door for a quick 2.5 mile stroller run with the kiddos before lunchtime. It wasn’t much but it was something!
I’m staying on my feet quite a bit at home too with the kiddos – they are on the MOVE! Both are rolling a ton and H has even started army crawling across the floor. I can’t take my eyes off them for a second. If I do I look up to find them no where near where they started. I guess it’s time to start baby proofing….
