I’m officially 11 weeks postpartum! I was cleared for fitness by my doctors about a month ago, so I’ve been easing back into things. I’ve run a few times (my first run was exactly one mile…. but I survived!) and have gone to yoga classes. But I’m ready to get back into a routine — and have some goals set for myself (more on that later, I promise).
On Tuesday I went for my first early morning run in a LONG time. It actually was probably my first of 2016. During pregnancy I worked out around 10am…I still had the luxury of sleeping in and taking my time in the mornings, I took full advantage. It felt great to be out again.
This week I focused on going longer distances by doing walk/run intervals of 5 minutes running followed by 1 minute walking. I’m happy to say that by the end of my run on Thursday I was able to run much longer before realizing I wanted/needed to walk. Progress!
8/23: 3 miles
8/24: 3 miles
8/25: 2.5 miles
